Larsens Camp

Named after explorer Eric Larsen, who once camped on this very site, Soroi Larsens Camp carries a wonderful sense of adventure and history. It is a place where you can feel connected to the spirit of early exploration while enjoying a beautifully refined and welcoming retreat.

Set along the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River, the camp feels deeply rooted in its Samburu surroundings. The sound of the river, the open landscapes, and the wildlife-rich environment create an authentic sense of place, while the camp’s warm design and thoughtful details make it an especially comfortable place to return to after a day in the bush.

With just 12 beautifully designed tents, two spacious two-bedroom family units, and two deluxe suites, Soroi Larsens offers an intimate safari experience that feels both personal and relaxed. Each tent has its own private deck overlooking the river, an ideal spot for early-morning coffee, a quiet afternoon between game drives, or simply watching life unfold along the riverbank.

For an added touch of indulgence, the deluxe suites feature outdoor showers and star beds, inviting you to sleep beneath Samburu’s vast, starlit sky. Whether you are traveling as a couple, a family, or with friends, every space has been designed to help you slow down, feel at home, and experience the beauty of Samburu in a meaningful way.

The Photography Hide at Soroi Larsens Camp offers a unique, up-close way to experience Samburu’s wildlife. Just a short walk from camp, this discreet hide overlooks a busy waterhole through five one-way glass windows, allowing photographers and nature lovers to observe and capture natural wildlife moments in comfort without disturbing the animals.
