Dinaka Camp

A 40,000-hectare (100,000-acre) exclusive private game reserve on the northern boundary of the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, Dinaka offers one of Botswana’s most distinctive desert wildlife experiences. Located in the heart of the Kalahari Desert, a 60-million-year-old biome, this remarkable landscape is home to an extraordinary diversity of desert-adapted wildlife.

This ever-changing thirstland shelters iconic species including black-maned Kalahari lion, leopard, cheetah, brown hyena, honey badger, Cape fox, porcupine, oryx, and springbok, among others. Wildlife sightings are especially rewarding around the network of pans and waterholes, where animals gather regularly to drink, making Dinaka a premier destination for high-density desert game viewing.

Guests are accommodated in seven spacious twin and double-bedded thatched safari tents, each en-suite bathroom has both a large walk in shower and outdoor shower with a view. Dinaka’s tents are well spaced and raised up on wooden decks giving the perfect vantage point over a permanent water hole. Connected by wooden walkways all areas of camp are accessible by wheelchair.

Offering a compelling contrast to the savanna-rich Okavango Delta, Dinaka is ideal for travelers seeking an authentic Botswana desert safari with exceptional wildlife viewing and a true sense of place.
