Spectacular Safari Centerpieces
Finding a statement piece to inspire your safari…
When we design a custom safari, we usually start with one or two priorities that determine the overall character of the trip. We might target a specific time of year, build around a unique activity or focus on the prevalence of a particular species or wildlife phenomenon.
If we have a truly blank slate, we narrow down the options by listening carefully to our clients’ preferences and travel style. This will often lead us to something a little unusual, maybe off the beaten track, or something that offers guests unique access to people, projects and specific themes.
Any of these distinctive destinations can be the centerpiece of your safari…
Shipwreck Lodge, located in the Skeleton Coast Central Concession Area, is a must-see spot within the park, home to unique wildlife including elephants and brown hyenas. This area is also home to one of the only viable lion populations in Namibia outside of Etosha National Park.
The rooms at Apoka Lodge in Uganda’s Kidepo Natioanl Park have been built with comfort in mind. Everything is handmade by local craftsmen, everything is large and capacious. 10 expansive rooms with natural canvas walls surround a rocky kopje with endless views across the savannah. With inside sitting rooms and private verandas there are plenty of places to relax, read and sprawl.
The brand-new Jack’s Camp pays homage to the property’s enduring and much-loved 1940s campaign style. The guest tents, seven twins and two doubles, are much larger and each is 270 square meters in size.
Owned and run by the Maasai community, Il Ngwesi offers something truly special. Visitors to the lodge have a full wildlife and cultural experience, enjoying hospitality more akin that offered to a valued family member. With no other tourist facilities within the Group Ranch, it is the ultimate personal experience.
