Family Safaris: Create Wild Memories Together

Packed with Thrills, Laughter, and Discovery!

Near Somalisa Acacia Camp in Hwange, Zimbabwe

What’s better than being on safari? Seeing the wonder through the eyes of a kid…

It’s often the small things that really connect with kids: short bush walks to examine the bugs and animal tracks we often miss, craft projects to make grass jewelry and bows and arrows, hands-on cooking classes for snacks and treats and cultural experiences like learning the local language and traditional songs and dances.

Flexibility is key to planning a perfect family safari. We want camps that offer spacious family suites with lots of extra surprises and a staff who loves to engage and explore with younger travelers.

We tailor every family safari to inspire curious adventure seekers of every age. With the right camps, expert guides and diverse activities, our family safaris let you connect with nature and each other while creating unforgettable memories.

Here are a few of Next Adventure’s favorite camps for families

Mkombe’s House | Serengeti, Tanzania

The only self-contained private house in the Serengeti, and set plum in the middle of one of the richest wildlife areas, this “home away from home” in the bush is designed specifically with little children in mind, as well as being a great place for groups of friends. Mkombe was a guide who cherished this area and connected strongly with children – and their parents.

Tuludi | Okavango Delta, Botswana

An intimate, tented camp in the heart of the wildlife-rich Khwai Private Reserve. Tuludi provides an iconic Okavango Delta experience in the most refined and superbly stylish surroundings. Tuludi is located in the 200,000 hectare Khwai Private Reserve that borders both the Moremi Game Reserve and Chobe National Park. Plus it has swings on the haning over the main viewing platform, elevated walkways in the canopy and an actual slide from the library perch to the deck below!

Saruni Mara | Masai Mara, Kenya

Saruni Mara is a small, luxury lodge in the Masai Mara, with five cottages, a family villa, and a private villa. It is located in a secluded valley in one of the most exciting wildernesses in Africa – the Mara North Conservancy. This is an exclusive community-owned wildlife conservancy bordering the world-renowned Masai Mara National Reserve. It’s a large and diverse landscape where guests can enjoy night game drives and off-roading.

Somalisa Acacia | Hwange, Zimbabwe

Somalisa Acacia is tucked away beneath the dappled shade of an Acacia grove. A place where meeting an elephant in your backyard is not at all a fanciful notion. Especially if your backyard happens to be the largest natural reserve in Zimbabwe, famous for its rich diversity of wildlife. This camp is a true oasis for adventure with some of the nicest people you’ll ever meet.

KuKaya | South Luangwa, Zambia

KuKaya is a unique lodge that redefines the safari experience, giving you the freedom of choice to design your own timetable with flexible activity and dining options. KuKaya is set in pristine bush overlooking permanent water holes, only 2.5 km from the main gate of the South Luangwa, known as Leopard Valley and considered the birthplace of the original walking safari.

Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge | Sabi Sands, South Africa

Deep in the bushveld overlooking a waterhole and an open plain, lies a lodge that pulses to the rhythm of Africa’s heartbeat. With a history spanning over 40 years, the lodge has earned a reputation of a “luxury home in the bush,” service excellence, and effortless personal attention. Parents can relax and enjoy some private time, knowing that their children are safe and happy in their signature EleFun Centre, reveling in their own, age-appropriate, fun-filled bushveld experience, becoming tomorrow’s conservationists.
