Overview

With a focus on primate trekking experiences, this family safari features Uganda’s best known highlights including chimpanzees in Kibale National Forest and gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

Along the way, there are opportunities for farm walks, crater lakes, local lunches, boating on the Kazinga Channel and meeting members of the gorilla veterinarian team. Just in the Bwindi/Lake Mutanda area, the family can stay active and choose from mountain biking and canoe excursions as well as a walk with the Batwa community.

Since this Uganda itinerary is relatively short, it allows time to include a more traditional safari extension in Kenya or a beach break on the sands of Zanzibar.
